Featured on EdSurge: VR Gives North Dakota Kids an Early Career Jump Start
By Lauren Coffey, EdSurge As one fourth grader peers over the top of a 300-foot-tall wind turbine, a classmate stands next to surgeons operating in an emergency room. Nearby, another fourth grader shuffles through an autobody shop. They are not visiting high-risk job sites, at least not in real life. These experiences are the result of a series of investments into virtual reality in North Dakota. The state hopes that putting VR headsets with career-focused software in classrooms will eventually boost local employment. While many schools across the country are looking to limit screen time, North Dakota is pushing for increasingly younger students to use these digital tools.

How CareerViewXR is Closing the Career Awareness Gap & Preparing Students for the Future of Work
By XR Association In high school gyms, football fields, and campuses across the country, commencement season is in full swing. Amid the caps and gowns, the celebrations, the tearful goodbyes and hopeful beginnings, graduates are quietly wrestling with the same question: what's next? America's graduates are stepping off the commencement stage and into a job market that feels uncertain and bewildering. Artificial intelligence is reshaping the labor market in ways that have sparked a renewed appreciation for skilled labor and manufacturing. With a growing skills gap and an aging trades workforce, the conversation about workforce readiness has taken on new urgency.
Skills training alone canβt solve this challenge. We need to close the career awareness gap. And that starts earlier than most people think.
